Job Description

Internal Communications Managers for NIKE, Inc.’s six geographies are part of the larger Global Communications team. These roles provide specific communications support for the geography in market.

In this case the support is provided to Greater China geography. The role reports directly into the Comms Director for Greater China , with a dotted line to the Global Internal Comms Director.

The role requires close co-operation and interaction with multiple functions across the business and with the leadership and Communications team of the Geographies and Territories.

 Responsibilities:

(Geo Level)

  • The creation and implementation of an internal communications strategy for the geo to support the GM’s strategy and engage, inspire and empower NIKE, Inc, employees in market
  • Efficient, timely support for the Geography leadership Communications (GM and other leadership team as appropriate) across multiple channels (emails, videos, all employee meetings, intranet, organizational announcements).
  • Writing content for a variety of media including the geo channel on Zero
  • Coordinating production of employee meetings and events, including content collection.
  • Inspiring, engaging and informing employees by delivering Nike Brand campaign messages to the internal audience
  • Close alignment with Global Internal Communications for strategic planning and messaging
  • Developing ongoing relationships with business partners across a range of Nike functions including HR and others to further drive the strategic plan within the geo. (*HR comms refers to high level, strategic comms that impact large employee base, being excluded specific comms as benefits comms etc.)
  • Management of Craig Cheek’s ghost e-mail box

  
(Territories)

  • Consultancy to Territory leadership teams on internal comms
  • Effective co-ordination of messaging and events (eg café meetings/financials) to all Territories with the Geo
  • Working with Territory teams to deliver Territory stories up to global intranet and Geo intranet pages

Competencies

  • Sense of urgency and flexibility
  • Attention to detail
  • Fluent Mandarin written and spoken, and fluent English spoken; fluent English written is a big plus
  • Experience with digital media, event and multimedia production
  • Strong writing and strategic planning skills
  • Interpersonal skills/dynamic style/able to work across Geos and functions and with people at all levels within the organization
  • Agency management experience

Other factors

Experience  - Minimum  5-8 years in a communications role, either in agency or in-house (internal communications experience preferred)
Role needs to be full-time (5 days per week)
